The aftermath of Hurricane Ike has interrupted the lives of every resident in Southeast
Texas. Although many are still grappling with hardships and damaged property, the
employees of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas unselfishly reached out to help
neighbors in need.
As we all begin the rebuilding process, we are extremely grateful to the employees
and medical staff that worked tirelessly to provide excellent healthcare before,
during and after the storm. Hurricane Ike, a devastating storm of unbelievable magnitude,
virtually left no one unscathed. Storm surge, hurricane force winds and a crippled
infrastructure impacted the majority of our community as well as a large portion
of our workforce. This is the same workforce that put their lives on hold to shelter
in place and provide medical care to over one-hundred critically ill patients and
newborns. Many of these same employees are still recovering from the devastation
of Hurricane Rita less than three years earlier.
Many times adversity compels us to open our hearts to bless others in need. Your
generous gift will assist in aiding the most immediate needs of our hospitals and
our employees. Thank you for your interest and support. We feel honored to be able
to provide the needed healthcare and support services to families of Southeast Texas.
This is yet another way we are working to fulfill our simple but profound mission
