Ribbon Cutting Ceremony opening the new Trinity Tower
BEAUMONT – (February 2009) – On Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at 4:30pm, Baptist Beaumont Hospital along with Mayor Becky Ames, Odra Gloston and Mae Guillory, both 50 year employees, will perform a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony opening the new Trinity Tower. The new $56 million expansion is located at the front of the existing campus at 3080 College Street.
The new expansion will be an answer to the critical needs of our community. The 55 new private rooms located on the 3rd and 4th floor of the new tower will all have telemetry monitoring which allows the nurses to monitor the vital signs of the patients on a continued basis while at their workstation. Each room will be divided into three sections with a space for the patient, their family and a designated area for the nurse caring for the patient. The second floor of the new Trinity Tower will remain vacant in the event that the hospital expands operations at a later date. The first floor of the Trinity Tower will allow for a covered drop-off area for patients, clergy and physicians.

The expansion was a direct result of Hurricane Rita’s devastation in our area three years ago. Rita’s destruction forced the hospital’s rehabilitation facility to be condemned, resulting in the loss of 21 patient rooms. The new Trinity Tower will be able to handle a category 4 hurricane. “The addition will meet our community’s needs,” stated Guy Giesecke, Chief Operating Officer. “We are blessed to have been given an excellent opportunity to extend services to Southeast Texas.”
