BEAUMONT – (May 12, 2009) – On Tuesday, May 12, 2009, John Murray, BSN, RN, CEN, was recognized as the 2009 recipient of the Spirit of Nursing Award. Each year in May, National Nurse’s Day is recognized in honor of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. During this celebratory week, the local districts of the Texas Nurses Association host a special awards banquet for exemplary nurses in the community. These nurses are honored for their heroic acts, years of service, exemplary courage and their commitment to the nursing profession. John Murray, BSN, RN, CEN, is an excellent example of the Spirit of Nursing Award. John has been a vital member of the Baptist Beaumont Hospital team for over thirty years.
