BAPTIST BEAUMONT HOSPITAL SALUTES OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL
BEAUMONT – (Tuesday, June 30, 2009)
For many Americans, Fourth of July is a welcome respite from work; an extra day to spend at the beach or finish errands. But today we take the opportunity to reflect, remember and honor all those who have served and sacrificed in defense of our nation. On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at 2:00pm, Baptist Beaumont Hospital Main Lobby located at 3080 College Street, will salute the family members of our employees presently serving our country – recognizing the Americans in uniform, on battlefields, stationed at posts away from their families and far from their homes. As we prepare for another family holiday, hundreds of thousands of soldiers, airmen, and Marines are serving in the combat theaters of Iraq and Afghanistan, in places like Korea and Kosovo, and on ships and submarines at sea and around the world.
The employees of the Beaumont Campus will join together in the lobby to participate in the recognition of employee family members presently serving our country. The program will begin with a color guard presentation by Boy Scout Troup #220, followed by an introduction by each employee-proudly displaying a picture of their military family member. Other activities will include prayer for our enlisted men and women, entertainment by the Driftwood Barbershop Quartet and refreshments.
We hope that all of our soldiers who are putting their lives at risk every day for our country feel the pride, affection and admiration of each of the employees at Baptist Beaumont Hospital. While Fourth of July is a special holiday set aside to reflect on the service of our armed forces, it should by no means be the only day of the year in which we keep our servicemen and women in our hearts and minds. We will all strive to remember their sacrifices each and every day. If you need further information, please contact Mary Poole at 291-3731. Hope to see you as we Salute Our Troops.
