Baptist Beaumont Hospital Partners with Child Protective Services Providing Christmas for Children in the Community
BEAUMONT – (December 9, 2009) –Baptist Beaumont Hospital is proud to partner with Child Protective Services for our 16th Annual “Angel Tree” project. A reception honoring hospital employees who participated in this worthwhile project will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11:00am in the Baptist Beaumont Hospital Lobby. We will be joined by the Westbrook High School Choir students who will lend their time, talents and song.
“The employees of Baptist Beaumont Hospital anticipate this event each year, said Mary Poole, Marketing Director. “They look forward to the opportunity of making a difference in the lives of these very special children.”
Child Protective Services receives over 1,750 referrals each year from Jefferson County alone. Many of these children come from homes that are at or below poverty level and/or living with relatives. CPS places children in permanent adoptive homes and foster care and provides services to help stabilize runaways and at-risk youth.
This Christmas season, Baptist Beaumont Hospital employees adopted 125 children through the CPS “Angel Tree” project. “The Angel Tree project and many other community holiday events take place in lieu of our hospital lighting. Each one of us has a very special gift, and that is the gift of giving,” Poole stated.
