Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital
Launches New Initiative
Focused on Addressing Local Employer Healthcare Needs

Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospitals have initiated a new program to assist our facility in linking the hospital’s services and programs with the health-related needs of local employers and their workforce.  It is anticipated that employers participating in this program will recognize meaningful savings in employee health costs while our healthcare organization will be able to play an even greater role in building a healthier community.

The program is designed to provide employers in Southeast Texas a window into the potential healthcare costs and risks associated with their workforce while giving individual employees a confidential snapshot into their own health status. Through information received from surveys, employers are able to see the direct relationship between health risks and the cost of employee health benefits, lost productivity and profitability if problems are left untreated.  By taking proactive intervention and moving at-risk employees into specific hospital-based programs, employers can save significant dollars in employee health costs, absenteeism, healthcare premiums, worker’s compensation and other healthcare-related expenditures.

Our goal is to work with the Southeast Texas workforce to target health risks and coordinate the high risks employees with early detection, prevention and education initiatives focused on specific diseases such as heart, cancer, orthopedics, women’s health, diabetes and more.  We are working together to build a healthier Southeast Texas.

Assuring high-quality education for patient self-care is one of the primary goals of the Education Recognition program. Through support of the health care team and increased knowledge and awareness of diabetes, the patient can assume a major part of the responsibility for his/her diabetes management.  Unnecessary hospital admissions and some of the acute and chronic complications of diabetes may be prevented through self- management.
