A first for Southeast Texas… The Dauphin Cancer Screening & Prevention Center is opening, Thursday May 25th. THE FIRST STATE OF THE ART DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS….

The new Charline & Sidney “Chief” Dauphin Cancer Screening & Prevention Center (of the Julie and Ben Rogers Cancer Institute at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital) will open May 25th. The Dauphin Center offers screening tests for prostate cancer and breast cancer along with cancer prevention programs. It is the only facility with digital mammography in Southeast Texas. The Charline & Sidney “Chief” Dauphin Cancer Screening & Prevention Center was established in Beaumont, Texas in 2006 in remembrance of a wonderful man, Sidney “Chief” Dauphin. “Chief,” as he was known to his friends, was a man of integrity who inspired many young men during his career as a high school coach. He continued to impact the lives of Southeast Texans through Texas Home Health, a company he founded with his wife, Charline. Known as a woman of vision, a woman of action, and a woman of determination, Charline has dedicated her life to the mission of fighting cancer. It is from her desire to contribute to an endeavor that would have been meaningful to “Chief” as well as her commitment to improving and saving lives from cancer that the Dauphin Cancer Screening & Prevention Center was established.

The Dauphin Cancer Screening and Prevention Center is the first screening program in Southeast Texas. The facility has the ability to conveniently screen for cancer early and take preventative measures to halt the devastating effects.
