Volunteer Services
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our hospital.
At Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital, committed volunteers are a proud part of our heritage. Our volunteers come from all corners of the community and represent a variety of professions, age groups, physical abilities, and ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Committed volunteers have been the key to our success ever since we opened our doors.
Volunteer Auxiliary
The Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Volunteer Auxiliary is made up of all hospital volunteers working together to raise funds and promote the health and welfare of the surrounding community. Over the years the volunteers have provided funds to the hospital to enhance patient care through the purchase of important medical equipment and vans, monthly donations to the Chaplain’s Emergency fund, and through support of several remodeling projects. The volunteers also encourage students to pursue healthcare career educations by offering educational scholarships. These generous gifts have been made possible through the Volunteer Auxiliary’s operation of the hospital gift shop.
The Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Auxiliary is a member of the Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteers and participates annually in the state convention. Volunteers participate in varied events during the year. Major holidays are observed with numerous activities. A spring luncheon is held for all volunteers to highlight services and talents in a social setting. Health and special social events sponsored by the hospital and healthcare system are worked and well attended by the volunteers.
Adult Volunteer Program
Adult volunteers (minimum of 18 years of age) are asked to commit to volunteering three to four hours a week for a minimum of six months. Whether your interest is helping others, meeting the public or learning new skills, your contributions and ideas benefit both the hospital and community.
Student Volunteer Program
High School and College Student Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 25 hours of service to the hospital. This is done through volunteering two hours a week during the school year and/or four hours a week in the summer. Whether exploring a career in healthcare or fulfilling a desire to help others, the program offers opportunities to learn about hospital services. It also provides an excellent setting for those needing to earn service hours for school, religious, or civic groups.
